High school sweethearts Marilu and Armin go on a hike, equipped with opposing agendas: While Marilu must confess that she is leaving for college, Armin plans a proposal geared at making her stay.
Amidst their last days of high school Marilu and Armin hike up the local mountain of their alpine village for some alone time. But soon their relationship is tested when they discover conflicting views on the meaning of "Heimat": She feels an urge to venture out into the world before considering where home is; he insists that finding home means putting down roots where they grew up.
As a reinterpretation of the postwar Heimatfilm genre, this arthouse project sets out to inspire discussions over the better compass in young age: The heart or the mind.
