Edna Luise Biesold is a German born and New York based filmmaker. 

She is a member of cinematographersxx and a recent recipient of the Franz Wieser Grant from ARRI for fantasy short THE MOLOK, featuring live action puppetry and practical effects. The project is wrapping up post-production this year.

Edna honed her craft at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts on the The Dean's fellowship with a special focus on cinematography. She is a traveler and language enthusiast and has shot projects across the globe. After earning her MFA in Filmmaking in 2015, she collaborated with talent from NYU's Acting Program for feature film VIRAL BEAUTY. It premiered in 2017 and is currently available on Amazon. 

Edna holds a degree in Linguistics and Literature studies and she co-wrote and co-directed THE COLOR OF TIME about Pulitzer Prize winner C.K. Williams, starring James Franco, Jessica Chastain, Mila Kunis and Henry Hopper. 

3 MONKEYS will be her solo debut as director and is presently in development. In preparation for casting and directing deaf talent, Edna is passionately learning ASL.
