Edna Luise Biesold is a German born and New York based filmmaker. She grew up without TV and only began watching movies when she was a teenager.
After a slight detour and a degree in Literature and Linguistics, she started making short films, received the Dean's fellowship at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and graduated in 2015 with an MFA in Filmmaking.
Shortly after, she shot her first feature film, VIRAL BEAUTY, with collaborators Casey Killoran and David T. Lam, graduates from the Acting program at NYU. The film premiered in early 2017 and is currently awaiting distribution.
She also co-directed THE COLOR OF TIME, a feature film about Pulitzer Prize winner C.K. Williams, starring James Franco, Jessica Chastain, Mila Kunis and Henry Hopper.
Edna's short film PARENTHESIS, starring Marc Menchaca, is currently applying to festivals.
Later this year, her rendition of COMBAT will be released, featuring unpublished segments from THE COLOR OF TIME.
Pre-Production for THE MOLOK, a fantasy film involving a live-animated sculpture, is taking shape, with principal photography expected to start in Spring 2019.
